The 1993 born players competed in the first ever U17 World Championship in Hamburg this July. With the astonishing result of Poland and the disappointing ending of our #1 team Spain, there were some changes necessary. Here we go for the explanations.

With the U20 European Championships of Division A and B coming to an end last weekend, it was about time to update our Generation Ranking of the 199o born players. With the Gold Medals of France in the higher competition and Austria in the 2nd one, there have been some changes that we will go through in the following article.

U18 European Championship Preview

Today starts the U18 European Championship of Division A in Vilnius/Lithuania. The tournament features the highly talented European 1992 generation and even if one of the biggest names in Enes Kanter will not be present, the level of this event will probably be among the best of the whole summer. A lot of Colleges and NBA teams will certainly be present over the next years as some clear-cut future NBA talent will be on the courts of Siemens Arena in Vilnius.
French U18 coach comments on his roster

With the U18 European Championships starting this Thursday in Lithuania, the French magazine Basketnews spoke 3 weeks ago with Head coach Philippe Ory to give his opinion on the players of the U18 team. When the interview was made, there were still a lot of other players in the roster which explains the absence of comments on some of the names on the list. At that moment, the coach was not aware either on the absence of Evan Fournier (thumb ligaments) in his already reduced team (absence of Leo Westermann and Vincent Pourchot)

The German U17 National Team came with the ambitions to reach the Quarter-Finals in Hamburg. This goal was reached but somehow, the team of coach Menz disappeared a bit after their elimination on Friday and could not build on their excellent showing from the Albert-Schweitzer Tournament in spring.

In the quarter-finals yesterday, Croatia managed to beat Serbia with an incredible finish by Dino Butorac who scored a tough three-pointer and 2FTs to bring his team back.
