The Serbian team finished finally at the 5th place of the U17 World Championship in Hamburg. After winning the Bronze Medal in Lithuania last summer in the U16 category, this team reached probably his maximum level with this 5th place as top-talent Nenad Miljenovic could not take over the team as he liked to in order to go for more.

U17 World Championship 2010: Lithuania

The fourth place of Lithuania can be considered as a surprise as their main player and U16 European Championship MVP Tauras Jogela was missing. The predictions in the Lithuanian press were not very positive either but a team that lacked size and talent but had the cojones to win the games that counted was one of the nice surprises in Hamburg. Unfortunately for them, they were only one shot away from winning the Bronze Medal.

U17 World Championship: Finals Day

The first ever U17 World Championship has ended on Sunday in Hamburg with the victory of the United States. The team from Coach Don Showalter was clearly the best squad in the whole tournament but was also the best US Youth Team I have ever seen, not only in terms of talent but also in terms of team play and attitude.

Today have been played the Quarter-Finals of the first ever U17 World Championship in Hamburg. In front of about 20 College and NBA scouts, 4 teams qualified for the semi-finals to be played on Saturday. The first two games featured only non-European teams, so let’s go for a review of their respective quarter-finals.
