June 12th, 2012 · 1 Comment

The third and last day of the Adidas Eurocamp 2012 is done and all the scouts and observers can make their conclusions. The major thing is that there was no camper that really stood out and was dominating everything. Several players have helped their stock nicely and one player not in the camp but playing here too was the storyline of the three days in Italy.

How high can go Ilkan Karaman?

June 4th, 2012 · 2 Comments

One of the 1990 born and therefore automatically eligible players for the NBA Draft 2012 who do not see a lot of hype is the Turkish Power Forward Ilkan Karaman. Karaman is 2m05 tall and listed at 115kg and presents an interesting physical and athletic combination to play in the paint. NBBL Top 4 2012: Player Review

May 29th, 2012 · 1 Comment

The NBBL Top 4 level was a bit lower this season in my opinion. The winners from Breitengüssbach deserved the victory because of their endless will and deeper rotation as they had 11 players capable of contributing on this level. Urspring had their trauma in the semi-final where they were up 17 points in the last quarter and finally lost to the future champion. The absence of a good point guard (Thomas Grün injured, Zaire Thompson still limited on this level) and the quick ankle injury of Sid-Marlon Theis shortened their rotation and might be an explication for the disaster in the final minutes. Bremerhaven played a nice rotation as well but the overall talent level was not good enough while Phoenix Hagen had a really bad day in their semi-final.

JBBL Top 4 2012: Player Review

May 21st, 2012 · No Comments

The Top 4 of the German U16 League JBBL was overall on very good level. When last year, the Urspring team around Gavin Schilling dominated everything, the competition was more balanced this time and no individual dominator was present but teams were deeper and had especially interesting players in the younger age groups 97 or even 98. As usual, we do not go too much into details with scouting reports about such young players as their development is still ahead. We concentrate in this report only to a few players that caught our eyes and can not give a full report on all the prospects of the four teams as most of these kids are still in an early development of their basketball skills.
