U18 European Championship 2011: advanced stats

August 1st, 2011 · No Comments

The U18 European Championship of Division A is over for 2011 but no player really stood out from an individual level. So it was great to get the advanced stats of the tournament again as we had already for the U20 and find out a bit more about who were the players that did the best statistically. And here are the surprising results.

The number one in efficiency per 28 minutes pace adjusted is the Lithuanian big guy Simonas Kymantas. He had 19.9 eff over the tournament but he did not look like a super important factor on a team that had like so many others no real superstar. On the second place, you could find without any major suprise Daniel Diez while the third one was Volodymyr Gerun from Ukraine. Alex Abrines, who surprisingly won the MVP trophy was not too bad on this ranking either as he finished 5th behind Mam Jaiteh. The rest of the All-Tournament team though was not found among the Top20 of this list. Nenad Miljenovic was 23rd, Vasilije Micic 44th and Przemyslaw Karnowski only 65th of 149 players in the Ranking.
