Quick update on Swedish Youth Championships

The different Swedish Youth Championships have been played over the last days and as Sweden is considered as one of the growing places in terms of Basketball, it was worth to take a closer look at who were the main players, especially also as a preparation for the Nordic Championships that europeanprospects.com will attend in May.

Let’s start with the youngest players. In the U15 championship, it was the team of Alvik that won the National Title while in the U16 class it was Nicholas Spires’ Södertälje that won the title. Check the highlights of both finals below, thanks to our friends at Swedish Basketball Television.

The Under 18 National title goes to Uppsala that has beaten Lulea in the Final 88-69. The Championship MVP trophy went to Viktor Gaddefors from Uppsala. The All-Tournament team for the Swedish U18 was the following:

  • Viktor Gaddefors – 1m99 – Forward – 1992 – Uppsala
  • Marcus Eriksson – 1m91 – Guard – 1993 – Uppsala
  • Ronaldas Rutkauskas – 2m01 – Forward – 08 Söder
  • Stefan Nguyen – 1m89 – Guard – 1992 BG Lulea
  • Max Johansson – Göteborg KFUM

In the U20 Championships, the national title goes to Plannja that has won against the Sanda BBK in the Final 99-74. The MVP trophy here was for Christopher Ryan from Plannja. The full All-Tournament team was the following:

  • Christopher Ryan – 1m96 – Guard – 1990 – Plannja
  • Jonathan Larsson – 1m88 – Guard – 1991 – Plannja
  • Charles Barton – 1m85 – Guard – 1992 – Sanda BBK
  • Christopher Czerapowicz – 1m97 – Forward – 1991 – Sanda BBK
  • Marcus Davidsson – 1m97 – Forward – 1990  – Norrköping
