Prospect of the month: October 2008
November 2nd, 2008 · 3 Comments
With the new seasons that have started, we also go again for the vote of Prospect of the month. This year, we consider the generations from 1987 to 1991. As it is always very tough to find the right first choice for every year, I had some choices that may look strange in the beginning, but I did them on purpose and just to follow my own preferences.
Prospect update: Thomas Heurtel
October 26th, 2008 · 2 Comments
One of the nice surprises in this beginning of the season in France is PG Thomas Heurtel. The player of Elan BĂ©arnais Pau Lacq Orthez is compiling very regular statistical performances as a back-up and totally deserves his large playing time. Today’s picks

- The Toronto Raptors are currently scouting throughout Europe. GM Bryan Colangelo will be in Cologne next Friday to scout the German seven-footer Tibor Pleiss
- The German U19 NBBL has started last weekend. I will come back to the top performers a little later in the season
- Victor Claver looks very promising in this beginning of the season. The Spanish forward shined in a recent win in front of Miami Heat and Houston Rockets scouts
- The Euroleague has started again. So don’t forget to join the BallinEurope Fantasy League division if you want to win two tickets for the Euroleague Final Four in Berlin
- One of the stories this summer was the eventual move of Enes Kanter to a High School in the United States. This is not the case as it has been known already for several weeks in Turkey. Now with the Euroleague having started, Kanter sits on the bench for the Fenerbahce team in Vitoria
- Another interesting prospect that has decided not to join the United States is German Center Maik Zirbes. He signed a three year deal with TBB Trier this week and won’t join a NCAA team next season as it has been announced previously.
- EurocupBasketball.com had a nice article about the Serbian prospect Andrija Milutinovic

Season Preview: 1987 generation (Part 1)

The 1987 generation is this season’s automatically eligible class for the NBA Draft 2009. The will be the first group of players that I take a look at in order to talk about their upcoming season. The list will of course not be complete and without any order, I took out the players that I think are worth of talking about for any reason. And of course, not all of them can be considered as legit NBA prospects.
