During the recent FIBA U19 World Championship in New Zealand, the Kazakh team was one of the sensations of the event and especially with their win over the hosts and therefore qualification for the next round, the team has fulfilled all the expectations. And it was one guard that played the game of his life at that particular moment: Anton Arsenyev. After having analyzed their team from a sportive way already, I have to come back to a more dark part of it after my previous article provoked some reactions.

In the recent FIBA U19 World Championships, the Croatian PF Mario Delas got elected MVP of the tournament for his performance to lead the Croatian team to an unexpected Bronze medal. Delas finished the tournament with 20.0ppg, 7.0rpg and 2.2apg while hitting 57.9% of his shot attempts. The 2m08 tall player from KK Split has clearly taken over the lead in the team-intern prospect ranking from Tomislav Zubcic who was generally regarded as the more talented player. Here we go for an update on the Delas.

The FIBA U19 World Championships have started this week in New Zealand and we had not that many surprises so far as all the big teams from Europe and the Americas have qualified for the next round. So I chose to take a closer look at one of the intruders to the Final round that was a total unknown to me before: Kazakhstan. So far, Anton Ponomarev was the only player I knew from that country as he played an interesting Reebok Eurocamp in Treviso. He was not a member of the team in New Zealand as he was born in 1988 and this tournament was setup for the 1990 and younger players.
