The German big guy Tibor Pleiss was the 2nd European player drafted in the 2010 NBA. He was picked by the New Jersey Nets who traded him to the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks then sold his rights to the Oklahoma City Thunder for close to 3,000,000 USD. Sam Presti and his team got what they wanted and for what they even were as high as using their 18th pick in the 1st round according to rumors.

Kevin Seraphin: Now listen to this Wizards
June 25th, 2010 · 1 Comment
With the number of European prospects drafted this year, I decided to have a review on every specific player. The first name that has been announced was Kevin Seraphin from France. It looked like David Stern has specifically practiced his French before the draft as he started his announcement with a very proud “Now listen to this” that he found so funny that he continued his speech with a little smirk on his face. So let’s check out who Seraphin really is, you better listen to this Wizards fans.

With one player in the first round and only four in the second round, Europe was under-represented compared to the last years but it will probably be a different story in 2011.

Destination NBA: the movie of the Draft
June 21st, 2010 · No Comments
We have talked already about this movie once but as the NBA Draft 2010 is approaching, I can only highly recommend again this film created by the French Nicolas de Virieu who accompanied Nicolas Batum and Alexis Ajinca to the 2008 NBA Draft. Even if the movie is only available in French, all the English dialogues have been subtitled so that a major part is understandable by anybody. Have fun watching the two Frenchmen fulfilling their dreams and get drafted by an NBA team and get an inside look to the whole NBA Draft process.

The number of Europeans that stay in the NBA Draft 2010 as Early-Entry players has dropped to only 5.
