NBBL Top4 2010 Preview: Team ALBA Urspring

May 14th, 2010 · No Comments

Last season marked the end of the reign of the Basketball Academy from Southern Germany when the team lost against Paderborn in the semi-finals. This season, Felix Czerny wants to lead his guys back to the title but ALBA Urspring will face once again Paderborn in the round of the last four.

1992 born forward Kevin Bright is looking forward to next weekend and gave us a little feedback on the Playoff-series versus Ludwigsburg and the regular season.

The motivation of other teams to beat ALBA Urspring has skyrocketed and it is getting harder and harder to dominate the games in the South Division. But to be honest, I don’t know why this is the case because we are not less motivated to bring the NBBL championship back home

On the upcoming tournament, Kevin Bright is not so sure who will be the main team to beat.

We should never underestimate Paderborn because they beat us last season and prevented us from defending our title. ALBA Berlin with their great team defense can destroy any participant in the Top 4. But finally, ALBA Urspring has a big hunger for the title and we need to satisfy it this season again.

After a year where he was plagued with a multitude of small injuries, the Mannheim born forward does not want to look back that much but prefers to see what is up next.

Personally, I am not so satisfied with my season because of the multitude of little injuries that I suffered from. I never had the possibility to really find my rhythm and only now with the Play-offs approaching, I found back my way of playing and reached a level where I would like to see myself. I will play another season with ALBA Urspring and my goal is to play College Basketball from the 2011 season on for four years. What comes after that, I don’t know yet; i don’t look to the future that far right now.

The 1m96 tall Kevin Bright averaged this season 11.8ppg (52.0% 2FG, 36.8% 3FG, 75.0% FTs), 5.8rpg, 2.8apg, 2.3spg, 2.5topg, 0.9bpg and 15.5effpg in the NBBL regular season. He was also a member of the German U18 National Team that played the Albert Schweitzer Tournament but could not compete anymore after the first round because he was ill. He should be a member of the U18 National Team for this summer in Vilnius.
