European Prospects

The German Basketball Academy from Urspring, that produced already several Division 1 players (Lucca Staiger, Christian Standhardinger, Justin Raffington,…) will participate at two prestigious tournaments in the USA during the Christmas Break. They will play the City of Palms Classic Signature Series where they will face Westchester County Day on the 20th December. After this tournament, the team of coach Ralph Junge will travel to Tennessee where they will participate to the Arby’s Classic in Bristol. We take a quick look at the roster from an NCAA point-of-view.

Mario Blessing – 6’2 – 180lbs – PG – 1992

Scouting: pass-first PG, no-nonsense guy, not a great athlete, good three-point shoot. Find more on him here.

Moritz Becker-Koch – 6’0 – 180lbs – PG – 1993

Oliver Heptner – 6’3 – 190lbs – SG – 1993

Kevin Bright – 6’5 – 205lbs – SG/SF – 1992

Scouting: excellent defender, good athlete, interesting three-point shot, good understanding of the game, a bit injury prone, mid-to-high-major interest (Iowa State, Nebraska,…). Find more on him here

Sid-Marlon Theis – 6’9 – 195lbs – SF – 1993

Scouting: raw forward, excellent body to build upon, very versatile potential for the future, great height, not a lot of experience, not very physical. Find more on him here.

Julius Wolf – 6’8 – 220lbs – PF/SF – 1993

Scouting: very versatile forward, excellent rebounder, not very athletic, good understanding of the game, leader, physical player, interesting passer. Find more on him here.

Malik Müller – 6’3 – 215lbs – SG/PG – 1994

Nevylle Richter – 6’8 – 235lbs – C – 1992

Scouting: Athletic but raw inside player, undersized, not much of a mid-range game, energy player.

Scouting: High-major Interest (Kansas,…)
