Jordan Brand announced today that in conjunction with this year’s Jordan Brand Classic, it will host its third annual European trip with a basketball training camp in Vilnius, Lithuania from March 7-8 to identify the top regional basketball talent.
The traditional event has however been reduced to a single European stage this year as Vilnius will be the only stop of the 2009 edition. The camp will feature the top 40 players (born in 93) from throughout Europe, who will train and compete over two days to earn a spot in the International game at this April’s Jordan Brand Classic. Only the ten best 15-16 year olds will join the team in New York, along with six other players who will be chosen at a later date from around the world. The complete Jordan Brand Classic International roster will be unveiled in April.
Unfortunately, the participants list will not be announced before the camp in order to protect the kids before being overwhelmed by agents or scouts and that they can be able to concentrate on the training according to the organization. So we have to wait until the beginning of March to know who are the youngsters that will compete this year in order to get one of the 10 spots for New York.
