Europeanprospects.com has always been a trailblazer in the Basketball Blogging universe. We were the first Blog speaking exclusively about Young European basketball players and we participated to the launch of the first-ever general English-speaking-only Basketball Blog about European Basketball, i.e. BallinEurope. The content of the website has always been free despite having a multitude of costs to cover the events that we scout. However, the joy of discovering and analyzing new basketball talent is not a money-making-machine and therefore we are testing a new revenue source.
We are currently Beta-Testing a new revenue generating model that has been specially designed for Weblogs and Websites that do not generate enough clicks to live through advertising revenues. The system is called Flattr and has been created by Peter Sunde. You can check the video below to see how this works.
The principle is really easy, you transfer a monthly amount of money to your account and share it with the article you like. From now on, you can find the small Flattr Button under each of the posts and by clicking on it, you can show that you appreciate the content of the specific article and share a small amount of your money with the author of this blog. Additionally, by becoming a member of Flattr, you can also support other quality websites that have adhered to this new Micro-Payment model.
If you have a website or a weblog as well, you can adhere to Flattr as well by registering here (and wait for getting a invite for Beta-Testing).
