Türk Telekom Tournament: the quarter finals are set
February 21st, 2008 at 10:41 pm by Christophe
After five days of intensive basketball, the quarter finals for the probably strongest U16 tournament in Europe are set and will be played this Friday in Sakarya.
Having won the Group A and being considered as one of the positive suprises, Germany will play against Italy. Having only lost against the athletic French team, the guys from Alexander Krüger are showing that Germany is able to produce some interesting talent. They have a very equal team with nobody scoring more than 11ppg.
Group B has been largely dominated by Turkey who have won all of their five contests. But here you have one player dominating everything with 18.8ppg and 17.0rpg in just 24 minutes in the person of Enes Kanter. The hosts will now play Bulgaria in the quarterfinals.
The two other matchups will be between France and Slovenia and Russia versus Greece. The turkish TV channel TRT3 will broad cast the two quarter finals Russia-Greece (17h00 Local time –> 16h00 CET) and Turkey-Bulgaria (18h15 CET) live. I don’t know if the Live stream will work tomorrow but this channel is available for free on the Internet right here.
