This Friday, the FIBA Central Board has decided unanimously to give the organization of the 2010 U17 World Basketball Championship to Germany. The other candidates have been France, China and Kazakhstan. While China stepped back in order to show the German-Chinese friendship, France got the rights for the organization of the U17 Women World Championship in 2010.
The games will be played in Hamburg and the participants will be the teams of 1993 born players and younger. The event will be played during July 2010.
