Urspring has reached the Semi-Finals of the Arby’s Classic and will play Biarcrest Christian tonight to reach the Final of this important Tournament for the first time.
In the round of the last 16, Urspring Academy defeated Los Angeles Dorsey Dons, especially by using a great zone defense that caused some trouble to the US boys. Out of their defensive pressure, the Germans could run easy fast breaks that they concluded with some spectacular plays. In the second half, the concentration went down and the LA players came a little it back in the game but the team coached by Felix Czerny managed to take the advantage until the end and qualify with a 63-49 win for the quarterfinals.
In those quarterfinals, a fantastic first quarter was enough to beat the Charlotte Tarpons around their top player Dego Pena. In fact, after the first eight minutes, the score was 26-8 for the Academy from Southern Germany. Behind the scoring efforts of Maurice Stuckey and Thierno Agne, the Germans finished the game easily to beat Charlotte on a final score of 57-34 and advance for the first time ever to the semis of the Arby’s Classic.
